1. Son of God or son of Joseph;
Carpenter or Heaven's Bread?
Can He give us more than Moses;
Can He keep the hungry fed?

2.  We have waited for Messiah
like the nightwatch wait for dawn;
Can He quench our deep desire,
though so humbly stable-born?

3.  Can He nourish for the journey,
strengthen us to bear the load?
Is He more than just a traveller,
one more victim of life's road?

4.  Our souls cried out and He answered:
"Taste and see the Lord is good!"
Bless'd are those who refuge in Him
See He feeds us heavenly food!

5.  Bread of Life from Heaven given,
Son of God and Son of Man!
Taught by God, by God forgiven!
Now we feed from Heaven's Hand!
