(may also be sung to any Long Metre tune, e.g.  ROCKINGHAM)

1.  Beside rivers of a strange land
where we sat down and where we wept
remembering our own Homelands
we wept for all we left behind

2. Beneath the shade of strange land's trees
We sing the songs our Homelands know
and every song stirs memories
we share with nearly no-one here

3. Yet here we are, and here God's voice
Is calling: "Sing the Lord's song here"
A song to drown the hurtful voice
That cries “go back from where you came!”

4. Lord, save us from that hurtful voice
That tears down human dignity
and speaks the lie: “You're not like us!
You're not where you should be, go Home!”

5. Yet here we are, and here God's voice
Is calling: "Sing the Lord's song here"
In harmony to add our voice
To those who do not fear to sing

6. Now sing as one God's loving song
Let all the Earth in one song share
For all are loved and all belong
And where it's sung, then there is home!
