1. Hold very dear each sorry tear
on dusty ground now falling;
For Christ will dry each tear-filled eye,
just heed His tender calling.
From tears we sow our God will grow
a new thing truly wondrous:
For those who here do sow in tears
in shouts of joy will harvest.

2.  For well we know that what we sow
is not what we will harvest
We cannot pay nor earn our way
for God to call us righteous
We all are lost but for the cross -
His death and resurrection
give us a share in life won there
that is for us salvation.

3.  So let us pour our treasure store
all out for our dear Jesus;
let every soul now seek one goal,
for this alone will please us:
Our Lord to know, and deeply know
His death and resurrection;
for in His power and not in ours
we'll reap our full salvation.
