1. Do you wonder why it's ever the same -
Why I always cry a prayer in God's name
when hardship is looming
and troubles amass,
when darkness is glooming
and shadows harass?

2.  I think you would find, if you only knew
the number of times that I have been through
this valley of nightmares
and cried out His Name
and then find Him right there,
then you'd do the same!

3.  Time and time again I've cried out in fear,
in anguish, in pain, for many a year;
when darkness draws nearer
and Death sets his snare,
My God turns His ear to
my each anxious prayer.

4.  So tell me, my Friend, and tell me now true;
would you not depend, if stood in my shoes.
always, ever turn to
the One and the same
who always has heard you
when you've cried His Name?
