Suggested Tune: LORD OF THE DANCE (IRREGULAR) - adapted from an American Shaker tune by Sydney Carter

1. It's time now, my children, that you learn to be wise,
and my light should dance and dazzle in your eyes,
for in you is a treasure that should far outshine
any cold fool's-gold glitter of your time.

     Shine bright, my children of the Light;
my loving gleam in your eyes burn bright!
And if from your heart my love is in your hands
then they'll see it clear and they'll understand

2.  This new generation has it all, so it seems
and they know what they want, and they're told it's what they need
for a bright shiny future painted airbrush clean
in our magazines and on tv screens.

3.  I wish they would open up their eyes and see
how I hurt when they hurt, how I long to set them free
while they chase down their rainbow's ends so endlessly
rich and poor alike in their poverty.

4.  It's time that they learned these things cannot fulfil
that they can't be an end and they never ever will
as a means, though, I tell you they are there to use
to invest in treasure you'll never lose.

5.  It's time now my children that you learn to be wise
and to find true welath in enriching people's lives
spend yourselves on the things that money cannot buy
and invest in hearts where true treasure lies.
