			1. Teach us to be down to Earth
			but not be quagmired here,
			possessed by our possessions
			and captives to our fear -
			fear that we won't have enough
			a fear of letting go;
			Teach us to have open hands
			that will not cling or clutch.

			2.  We confess the travesty
			created by our greed,
			the things we own have owned us;
			Have mercy! Set us free!
			May we die to fear and greed,
			Creator, make us new,
			may we learn to give away
			and trust you for all needs.

			3.  We will take inventory
			of all we have received;
			all things at our disposal
			we freely now can give;
			they are not the treasure, no
			and yet the giving is:
			when we loose our hold on things,
			they have no hold on us.

			4.  This will be our treasure now:
			that we have much to give,
			and that when we share freely,
			we're truly free to live.
			For it is not in hoarding
			that we are made secure;
			Our hope is in God alone,
			in God our hope is sure.
