1. Of all those healings we should seek
for frailties we'd much rather hide,
one ailment keeps us ever weak:
that dread disease called "pride".

2.  How deaf to God when we are vain
demanding some great wondrous act;
How self-importantly we strain
to hear the thunder clap!

3.  Let me a new creation be
so that I would no longer boast
O Lord, may it be you, not me,
I serve and love the most.

4.  For when we shake that prideful curse
and learn to say "Thy will be done!"
in seeking thus God's Kingdom first,
we'll see the healing come.
