Suggested Tune AUSTRIA (8787D) by F  Haydn

1. There's a line 'tween my heart and yours,
strongest twine binds yours and mine;
Knows no barriers, opens pris'n doors,
sees no borders, draws no lines.
These are heart-lines from our Father,
cords of love as strong as steel.
Lines of love for one another;
now the past at last can heal.

2.  I know we may have our diff'rences
and we may not look the same,
yet beneath the outward surface
we all share one fam'ly name:
Children of one Holy Father,
in His image all are made.
When we learn to love each other
then all diff'rence seems to fade.

3.  We are bound to one another,
heart to heart with God's own love;
mother, father, sister, brother,
all are gifts from God above.
We must take responsibility,
hand in hand in hardest times.
Loving to our full capacity
'Till we reach the finish line.

4.  Yet our love is not yet perfect,
and our past is full of hate -
If we hope to overcome it,
we cannot afford to wait:
Full forgiveness we must seek and
full forgiveness we must give.
When forgiveness sets us free then
only then we truly live!

5.  In this world with all its struggles
its so hard to stay afloat;
wave on wave of pain and troubles
seem to drown all signs of hope.
Let you hearts cry to the Spirit
He alone can calm our fears;
Come, O Spirit, guide us, fill us;
In your strength we'll persevere.

6.  He has given life abundant
Life eternal is His gift;
In His grace so all-sufficient
we have all we need to live.
Though this world does sorely tempt us
with all things that feed our greed,
we will hope in Him You've sent us -
He alone fulfils our need.

7.  Desp'rate crying, pointless dying,
people hurting endlessly;
End the cheating and the lying,
see: His truth can set us free!
For when our "yes" firmly is "yes"
we can learn to "walk our talk",
people trust then and depend on us
to be true when others fall.

8.  How we love to judge each other;
in the end we're all the same:
sister, brother, father, mother;
morally we all are lame,
crippled by our sin and weakness
paralysed by circumstance
just as we so long for kindness,
let compassion be our stance.

9.  New creations in Christ Jesus,
what a gift - to start anew!
If from Jesus I receive this,
why should I begrudge it you?
Teach us to forgive as freely
as forgiveness we receive;
Let us learn to share the healing
of the mercy that You give!
