To the Tune PASSION CHORALE (7.6.7.6.D.)
1. Katrina, oh Katrina,
where did you get your pow'r,
when you came busting in here
like some dark vengeance hour?
An act of God they call you,
who last week said God's dead.
No way would my God send you,
He sends His love instead.
2. His tears flow for the suff'rers,
the homeless and the lost.
His heart aches for the pris'ners,
and all who count the cost.
He understands - no wonder -
He saw His own Son killed,
and watches as we plunder
The property He built.
3. God does not rage and thunder,
He is not in the storm -
He's in the gentle whisper:
"Come here, my Child. Come home.
And if you feel crushed under,
and sick and tired of stress,
come lean here on my shoulder,
and let Me be your rest."
4. Katrina, yes, we all know
you will not be the last,
but when storms come and storms go,
our anchor will hold fast.
We'll trust the one who made us
and loves us to the end;
He is not in the storms gusts,
and love is all He'll send.
