Suggested Tune LOBE DEN HERREN (14.14.4 7.8.)

•  Out on the streets we have seen the
harassed and the helpless,
desp'rate for someone to follow,
Their sorrow seems endless;
death in their eyes,
whispers of Hell in their sighs.
These are the sheep with no Shepherd.

•  Here in the pews we all sit with
the saved and the righteous.
Will we seek comfort, or follow
where our Shepherd leads us?
We once were lost -
would still be, but for the cross!
Once we were sheep with no Shepherd.

•  No longer lost, His Love found us
while we were yet sinners;
hope has invaded the gloom of our
endless dead winter.
Freely received,
freely let us go and give!
Follow the voice of the Shepherd!

•  Out on the streets let us touch the
harassed and the helpless.
Let them see: He whom we follow
is Love and His mercy is endless.
Let us be bold,
no time to gently grow old!
Soon now we go to green pastures!
